Workster is partnering with a global leader in e-commerce to find a dedicated Fraud & Loss Operation Specialist to join their Risk & Control team in Lisbon. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity ideal for professionals experienced in fraud prevention and investigation, particularly in fast-paced e-commerce environments.
As a Fraud & Loss Operation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the platform from financial and reputational damage. You’ll monitor activities, investigate anomalies, and help implement improved detection processes to ensure a secure and trustworthy customer experience.
Your Role
- Monitor user transactions and activities to detect suspicious or fraudulent behavior
- Use tools, reports, and alerts to identify and escalate potential fraud cases
- Investigate fraud incidents and maintain accurate case documentation
- Analyze operational losses to identify root causes and drive preventive strategies
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulations (e.g., AML, KYC)
- Assist in enhancing fraud detection systems and developing new control measures
- Collaborate with internal teams including Legal, Compliance, and Customer Service
- Prepare investigative reports and present findings to relevant stakeholders
Your Qualifications
- Fluency in German (C2 level) and English (B2 level)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an e-commerce fraud environment
OR 2 years of customer service experience with exposure to fraud, abuse, or cybercrime - Strong investigative, analytical, and documentation skills
- Ability to gather and evaluate information from multiple sources
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven
- Excellent prioritization, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Calm temperament under pressure; able to handle disputes and emergencies
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
