Workster is collaborating with a prominent financial services provider to recruit a Senior Banking/Payments Officer for their office in Limassol. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong background in banking operations, payment processing, and financial compliance.

Your Role

  • Oversee and coordinate daily payment transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and fund transfers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with banks, payment service providers, and financial institutions.
  • Optimize payment workflows while mitigating operational risks.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with regulatory and legal standards (e.g., AML, KYC).
  • Monitor financial activities, flagging and escalating any unusual transactions.
  • Assist with audits, compliance reporting, and regulatory filings.
  • Analyze payment processes to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Handle and resolve issues related to payment discrepancies, chargebacks, and fraud prevention.
  • Maintain precise records of transactions and reconciliation reports.
  • Enhance internal payment procedures and controls to strengthen security and compliance.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with payment providers to improve transaction processing.
  • Support the adoption and integration of new payment technologies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members in payment operations.
  • Work closely with internal departments, including finance, compliance, and customer service, to ensure seamless payment operations.

Your Qualifications

  • Fluent English (C1 level) with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; additional certifications are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in banking operations, payment processing, or financial services, particularly within industries such as Forex, banking, PSPs, or online gaming.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing payment infrastructures and integrating new financial solutions.
  • Strong understanding of payment systems, financial processes, and regulatory frameworks, particularly regarding international transactions and compliance.
  • Expertise in AML practices, fraud detection, and risk management within financial operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with financial software; experience with CRM systems and payment platforms is highly valued.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage key client relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve transaction issues and optimize operations.
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members.
